UCLA Library
Public Services Assistant
Pasadena, California
I work in UCLA LIbrary system as a Public Services Assistant in the Humanities & Social Sciences Division of the Charles E. Young Research Library (YRL) My role in Charles E. Young Research Library is to help innovate approaches to research assistance and teaching & learning for students and faculty both in person as well as through the Library's online and technological resources. On the research support side, my current focus for UCLA is determining the advantages of integrating the comic book format in instructional resource design. For teaching and learning, I am supporting research in the areas of religion, identity, and popular culture.
My academic interests (as I continue my MLIS) lead me into identifying and responding to information barriers experienced by disenfranchised communities due to ethnicity and/or gender, integrating data literacy and support into theological education, and exploring bias and prejudice in algorithmic decision making systems. Additionally, I look for opportunities to explore religion and popculture (primarily comic books).

In my free time, I love reading and/or studying comics and graphic novels, or exploring new places and trying new foods!
