On the surface, I'm a fairly ordinary guy. In the middle I'm pretty ordinary, too. Once you get to know me, I'm a bit weird, but... ya know... in a fun way.
After some brief introspection, I consider myself to be honest, intelligent, and witty. I list these three traits first, because they seem to be the ones I most admire in others.
I often speak in movie and TV quotes. It's almost a reflex. I don't concern myself with whether or not the people I'm conversing with get the reference. They often don't. Their blank faces don't offend me though and when their eyes light up and you can see the spark of them getting the reference, it makes it all worth it. It can be a great way to gauge the compatibility of someone's personality.
I am an open book. Ask me anything and I'll answer you with complete candor. I don't care what anyone thinks of me... in principle. In truth I do, but I'm getting better at not giving a shit. I like to believe I'm not superficial and it's what's inside that counts, but again, that only works in theory. In life, I do care what's on the outside. It's human nature I suppose. I'm trying to get better about that as well.
When I was young and I used to watch The Price is Right and I never understood the contestants who, during the Showcase Showdown, would opt for the showcase that included all the trips to fabulous locales rather than the ones that included the car and appliances, etc. A trip only lasts a week or two, but those material objects will be with you for years. I understand those contestants now. I'll spend a lot of money over the next decade seeing the world. I love to travel and plan to see as much of the world as I can.
So that's a somewhat less-than-brief sample of who I am. I hope I didn't bore you, but then again, you did click on my profile. That's the risk you take.
