I am an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Whitworth University where I teach courses in Developmental Psychology, Moral Development, Psychological Statistics, Research Methods, and Senior Thesis. My research interests are in social and moral development, specifically with regards to the ways we attempt to understand the socio-moral decisions of both other people and superheroes. My current scholarship primarily focuses on the intersection of the features of sociomoral concepts such as law, authority, harm, justice, and civil liberties as depicted in superhero narratives, and the role of these features in everyday sociomoral development.

In addition, I attempt to communicate some of my scholarship interests to a wider audience through essays covering various topics related to popular culture, morality, citizenship, and theology, with an emphasis on superheroes. My essays have appeared in Modern Treatise, PopMatters, and Popular Culture and Theology.

Lastly, I am a comic creator and founder of the comic book company R-Squared Comicz. You can preview and/or purchase comics here: https://www.rsquaredcomicz.com/get-comicz/free/store/
