Mike Fitzgerald grew up in Eaton, Indiana.  He currently serves as an Education Associate for Career and Technical Education and Science, Technology, Engineering and Math at the Delaware Department of Education. He is responsible for leading the development, implementation and continuous improvement of curriculum and instruction in the statewide system of CTE within the programs of study in Architectural Engineering Technology; Digital Communication Technology; Geospatial Science and Technology; Manufacturing Engineering Technology; Manufacturing Production Technology; and STEM. Prior to working at the DDOE, Fitzgerald was a Program Specialist in CTE and STEM with the Indiana Department of Education. He has also worked as an educator of Engineering and Technology Education in Winchester, Indiana. He has received several state and national awards for educational leadership and was a NASA National Education Workshop for Math and Science Teachers educator, known as NEWMAST, and has served on the Board of Directors for the International Technology and Engineering Education Association (ITEEA). He is currently serving as President of the ITEEA-Council of Supervision and Leadership.  In his spare time he serves as the State Director of the Delaware Technology Student Association (DETSA).
